Frugal is ok...as long as it comes from the heart.

I have no idea what I'll get for my Mom and sister, I'll figure it out on Saturday.

Why would you give your sister something, its not sister's day. Its Mothers day.

I don't get why you ladies get two days anyways. You have Mothers Day and can anyone else get the other one.

Sounds like you got a plan. I have to admit though when i seen 12 pack I thought you were referring to beer.  How sad is that.

Does she have any particular hobby?  My mother is an avid reader and I can't keep up with her library, so I always give her a gift certificate to Amazon.  This lets her get exactly what she wants and it eliminates the problem of sending a package 800 miles away since we live in different states!

My mother-in-law on the other hand loves crafting and scrapbooking so I got her a Creative Memories gift certificate!  Every one will be happy and I have no stress!  Keep it simple!  Pay attention to her favorite activities and you will be fine!

I usually cook dinner for my mother. Not very creative, but she seems to like it a lot.

Thats a great gift......dont think its not. My mom has cards that all 4 of my siblings and I created when we were children.....thats over 30 years for me and 40 and 50 for my siblings. When we were helping our parents move recently, my sisters and I were going through those things we had made for her...so long ago. It was pretty neat that she saved them for so long and she kept some of them. She even remembered certain things about the days we gave her those cards.

Being a mother myself...it's not all about gifts anymore. Its the little things. Last year, I heard my husband tell our daughter to "let mommy sleep, it's Mothers day"  I still got gifts later on, but if I had not....that would have been just fine.....letting me sleep late.
