Yeah ... I was wondering the same thing .... BC ... are you OK ...
personally I had to deal with the wind today .... 40 to 60 mile gust ... no rain or snow or anything just wind ... it blew down some trees and some power poles and lines and my power was out for about 6 hours today ...

I am fine, thanks. I couldn't get to work today because of the flooding but otherwise I haven't had any problems.
Here are a few pics from a news website of some of the damage near my town. All of these are less than 10 minutes away (excpet the second to the last, that's maybe 20 minutes away but in the town where most of my nonprofit meetings are held). I think it was a mess in Foxfyre's area too:

I am fine, thank you, IO. The flooding isn't usually too bad here - we have wetlands to soak it up. The winds were wicked, tho, and we lost power for a while. And they had the road closed to my house, so the boy & I went out to dinner for a while. The power is back now, and things seem to be calming down.
I haven't seen a storm like this since '92, when Huddy Park was under water, and it washed away a bunch of houses along the ocean.
There's a lot of farmland and wooded areas where I live. The towns aren't as small and quaint as that appears, though, but it boarders a canal. That intersection is dry today, I went through there in my way home tonight.

glad you guys are ok .... I know how it feels to have the power out ... mine was out yesterday also ... we had some strong winds here and it took down some trees and power lines ...
It was a little scary ... but ... I was alright .... it even took a few pieces of my siding off the house ... I saved them so SU can put them back on ... after I chased them down ... that is ...
Anyway ... my power was out for about 6 hours and I didn't get much work done ... but I did a lot of it today ...
I'm calling it quits for the night ... it has been a long day ...
