Earliest childhood memories

This sounds like a cool trip down memory lane. OK Ill start

I was about 7 or 8, at a family friends Bar Mitzvah. My bro is 9 yrs older than me and it was his friend.  I was following them out the back door, thru the kitchen and about to jump a big fence. I guess they were gonna indulge in an illegal plant type thing to injest by smoking...I decided to turn aroun and I was LOCKED OUT.  The music was too loud so knocking and kicking the back door had no effect. I went to go through the kitchen but then BAM,  a huge GROWLING ferocious beast,  DOG came charging at me,   lucky for HIM, there was a huge fence between us.  I started to bawl my eyes out.  I was finally able to get back in the parteeee.  Scared but back inside.  Phew, that was about 30 years ago...

Tell us your oldest memories

I was about 7 and we lived above a bar. I had a cat that had to stay out in the wharehouse section above the bar. The door locked automatically behind you. You had to prop it open or you would be locked in. The block slipped and there I was, My mother was downstairs bartending and i was surrounded by concrete and glass. I can remeber pounding on the glass at the people walking below, even watched my dad drive by. Finally some old man walking noticed me. Then I was rescued but it was my earliest and most traumatizing moment as a child.

My earliest memory is a silly one, but my youngest sister and I had not started school yet, so we were quite young.

We were both at the top of the stairs at home, and for some reason she pushed me down them from top to bottom, but my mum never said anything about it, so I went upstairs and pushed her down them (my sister that is, not my mum).

Guess what?

I got told off.

I really can't think no further back than that, so will have to come up with some later ones.

Cool thread btw.

When I describe my earliest memory to my mom, she says I was about 18 mos old and it was my first night out of the crib.  I just remember getting up by myself and crawling into bed with Mommy and Daddy but my mom had to get up to make breakfast.  She wanted me to stay with my dad but I cried and wouldn't let her go.  My mom didn't know why, but in my memory it was because I didn't like the sour smell of my Daddy's sweat.

hummmmm I have so many.....I'll start with this one:

I was about 4 and one of my older brothers decided to take the rest of us swimming. So we all jumped in the old "simulated wood" panel station wagon and headed out. We stopped at a convenience store on the way to get some munchies to take to the beach. We jumped back in the car and were at the entrance gate when we realized we lost one of  my brothers so my oldest brother pulls a uturn and halls ass back to the store to find my other brother sitting on the step crying his eyes out. After the drama cleared, we piled back into the car and headed back to the beach, as my brother turned into the driveway for the beach the door swung open and my other brother(same one we left behind) fell out and rolled into the grass! My oldest brother slammed on the brakes and my other brother got up and punched my oldest brother in the nuts and yelled "you did that on purpose you asshole". Needless to say, we didn't get to go swimming that day, but it was a hell of a ride there and home!

I have a somewhat a memorial of this, my parents left me at church all afternoon after we got out of mass. I was not a happy person when they picked me up.  This is when I was 3 or so.

Shit most of you guys are were just retiring at that time, you old farts. JK

I have memory of right after we bought the house on Long Island, just moved from Brooklyn. So maybe I was 5 or so, back in 1974.  I got up early on Sat. morning to watch cartoons.  I was in the basement and saw smoke coming from the furnace room.  TOld dad and we evacuated the house.  F.D.  showed up and basically said minor electrical fire in the furnace or something.  I saved my FAMILY from fire...

I am the baby and the girl, there fore Im crazy.

I remeber when my brother was in secod grade, and I was still in kindergarden. they had what they called.."moms lunch hour" for the second graders. My mother picked me up, and we went across the hall and did that. (it was a mother of the children to it with the class for about an hour, getting to see the kids in school, meet the friends of the kid and give the teacher a break....)

I had a chicken leg, my brother, and his best pal had the same..a PB&J sandwhich.

they talked me out of the leg I had, being that I was the "little" sister. Mom raised hell after he came home. but I thought it was the greast to eat with my bro and his best friend. ( i was 5 and my bro was 7 at the time. )

this happend when i was very young..

i escaped the evil clutches of my mom's control and decided to explore the outside world beyond the front yard. i found myself down the street in a nieghbores yard which had a realy nice looking fountain in his front yard. it was begging me go in and take a dip to cool off so naturaly i did. but i knew better to get my clothes wet so i took them off and went for a dip in the lovely fountain. it turns out i wasnt welcomed by the nieghbor as he came out and said in complete astonishment "hey what are you doing here in my fountain without your clothes on? get out of here or i'm calling the police." i panicked and ran down the street scared out of my mind and started to cry becouse i forgot my clothes. i got even more scared when a old lady tried to get me to come to her as i'm sure she was concerned that a naked little boy was running down the street crying. i ended up in a chinese restaurant called "the dragon pearl." when walked in someone asked me "are all the police cars outside looking for you?" i said "yes becouse i went swimming in a tiny pool becouse it's hot outside.

My absolute earliest memory is of reaching above me to play with a plastic butterfly mobile.

Another memory is when I was maybe 9, I was at my neighbor/friend's house and her parents weren't at home. Somehow my friend broke the windowpane in her parent's second floor bedroom and she was afraid to tell them the truth, so we concoted a story that someone had driven by and thrown a brick at the window. We went outside to find a brick and placed it on the ground underneath the window (it didn't occur to us that the glass was also only on the outside and none inside at all). Then my friend felt we needed to get some validity to the story, so she decided to call the police and report it. Both of our dads were on the police dept, and hers had a pretty high position at the time. The cops showed up right away, and I let her do all the talking. Thinking about it now, they must have been really pissed, but they never accused us of lying, even though it was impossible for events to happen as we'd described.

Remember that story about you and that cow,

Lee Harvey, you are a madman. When you stole that cow, and your friend tried to make it with the cow. I want to party with you, cowboy. If the two of us together, forget it.
