I have let a few go, because they are idiots and I wont chase them for the sake of doing so. TO be honest with you, chasing them like that scares the shit out of me! BUT, I have never lost one yet that I have chased.
I have no sympathy for assholes who run from the cops for whatever reason and crash themselves, kill themselves, burn up in a pile of rubble... it is the innocent people who happen to get in the way that I feel for.
ok, I hate to go here but since you seem to fall into a "category" with this subject, I have a question or two.
Now when you’re duty and you’re driving down the highway going 68 in a 65 along with everyone else, and up the road is a ,,,,,,,,”officer” sitting in the median and when they are noticed everyone hits there breaks. This, of course, causes everyone else to do it and you always get a few that notice a bit late and have to slam the breaks which always almost causes an accident. Now there are two problems I see. One, no-one was speeding to begin with and by the time you get to the cruiser, you’re doing 15 mph below the limit. And two, all of this somehow happens in the name of SAFTY!!!!!! Please, explain this to me. Enlighten me! PLEASE!!!
This seems to apply to officers on the side of the road who get hit all the time writing tickets, officers that have to turn around quick and thus pull out in front of traffic, and so on. All done in the name of safety. For years this has bothered me to no end and I just feel I must be missing something. So please, clue me!
the sad fact is the majorty run becasue they have or think they have warrents.
I say if you run from the cops, its really shouldnt be their responsablity to pull your ass out of a tree.or what ever you get caught in. (or wreck into)
but then again, that makes it very easy to take you away in cuffs...with out the scaping afterwards
I agree there is no need to be flying throught median and into traffic to catch that speeder, he will still be there when you catch up. I do not work interstates, but we do have a state highway and many county roads. I do not write a lot of tickets, so I am not the traffic guru. I just have an opinion about people who commit contempt of cop, which is also a crime just by a nother name.
