Fucked over some shoes

Ok I need some opinions. I bought a pair of shoes at a shoe store locally. 50$ for a pair of sketcher sandals. I wore them 2 days, they tore up. The stitching came undone. So I took them back. I was told I had to get another pair. I wanted my money back but agreed to get another pair. So what happens today? After wearing them for an hour, the stitching is coming out again on the new oair in a different place. I call them. She says to bring them back because the manager is there. I get there and I am told that the manager said I have to get ANOTHER pair. But she had conveniantly stepped out so she didn't have to tell me herself. I am fucking hot. I proceeded to get the corporate office number and called. I had to leave a message for human resources? Does that sound right? I thought human resources did the hiring. Am I wrong to request my money?

1st, for some reason as much I like their slip on shoes they do seem to have sewing issues. I just took mine to a shoe repair place and paid 3 bucks to have the sewing by the elastic replaced, but that should not have to be done.

I always pay for everything with a credit card, that way I always have the upper hand in the recourse dept.

Beware of American Express though, they are not all that consumer friendly when it comes to charge backs.

Why do you plant the seeds for Photo to hijack your thread?

I agree that it doesn't make sense about Human Resources.  Maybe they think you want to make a complaint about the employee or the manager?

You're not at all wrong to request your money.  What are you supposed to do?  Keep exchanging the sandals every few days?

I've had good luck with emailing companies at their websites.

That is exactly what I said to the girl at the counter. I mean, are they that desperate to keep their 47$? Cause I will never spend another penny there. And my family will know how I was treated. I am not a bitch and am very understanding. I just think that the customer comes first. I gave them a chance and accepted a new pair when I really wanted my money. It turned around and bit me in the ass. I am going to get on the phone in the morning to the Corp office again. Any suggestions? Cause I always seem to come off too harsh.

When summer rolls around, the companies have to add chemicals to comply with summer clean air regulations, which cause refinement problems. When the people get the refining back to normal it goes down a little.

That's one reason I email instead of calling, so I don't have to worry about acting nice.

Sorry Ms. Serious Pants.   I gave you advice, but for some fucking reason no one wants to listen to me.  BTW, what store is it so I don't shop there and get screwed to! Is their return policy posted or on the recpt?

Well listen to that and you would be ahead on the gas deal. Just don't do business there and be sure to let them know how many people you are steering away from them.

Can't that be considered slander? I am not sure.

When you call....   start off nice....   you know...   don't rip them a new ass hole right from the start..

Human resources is a bull shit thing......you want the complaint department or their supervisor.  Ask for the president of the company.

If all this don't work,   start cussing,   I watched a thing on TV a ways back that showed where big companies had a person that dealt with irate customers.

I got irate enough with one company that I ended up talking to a vice president in NY.  She passed me on to their corporate lawyers in Dallas....   Who in turn gave me everything I wanted

Will they let you exchange for a different kind of shoe or give you a store credit?

I went to the website and it seems that the Skechers return policy sucks too.  Looks like they don't give refunds either, and it's hard to find a place to leave a comment.  I don't think the customer comes first at Skechers.

The BBB (not BaseBalle Babe) says

The Bureau has sent two requests for basic information to this company but, as of today, has received no reply.

further it states about this business

Refunds & Exchanges: A store is not obligated to accept items for refund, exchange, or credit except in cases where the item is defective or was misrepresented. Some stores have no refund or final sale policies. In some states, but not all, retailers are required by law to clearly disclose what their return policies are. Return policies can vary from store to store, so you should be sure to ask about a store's return policy, before you make a purchase, especially if the item is to be given as a gift. Return policies usually require that the item, be returned within a specified period of time, and must be in usable or salable condition. It is a good idea to keep the package and other materials an item was wrapped in, just in case you would have to return the item, & it would have to be shipped to the manufacturer. Finally, always save your receipt.

I am guessing you are not the forst to walk over this bridge (with broken shoes)  with this business.

Damn it just sucks you have to research where to shop now. I will remember this in the future. Thank you to all who took the time to comment and offer advice. It is much appreciated.

Here is what the BAD BUSINESS BUREAU had to say

Shoe Sensation, Acton Enterprises Ripoff I called with an inquiry, and I heard the lady tell an associate I was a ****ing ***hole. Chillicothe Ohio *REBUTTAL employee ..Dear Yahoo Review Readers, shoes in question were purchased at another store.

Company
Shoe Sensation, Acton Enterprises
Address:
1075 N. Bridge St.
Chillicothe Ohio 45601
U.S.A.
Phone Number:
740-779-9913
Fax:

On May 11 2005 I called the local Shoe Sensation, where I have purchased shoes for myself and my four kids many times. I first asked about a certain brand of shoes being in stock and was told yes. I then told the lady that I had purchased a pair of shoes about 5 weeks ago and that the rubber on the tips was peeling off. I politely asked her if there was any way to look up my receipt in the cash register as they ask for your name or phone number when you make a purchase.

I was told "hold on", the next thing I heard was " theres a ****ing ***hole here on the phone wanting to return a pair of 3 month old shoes" to my disbelief. Somehow I was able to mantain my composure and spoke to her boss the store asst. manager Brandy, who was nice but I was never told I'm sorry.

On May 12 I called the store manager Mellissa and told her what happened and was told not to lose any sleep over it, and that she would get back in touch with me. I also called Heather Hayden at 1-888-399-7463 and left a message on her machine asking for a call back. As of today May 14, they will not return my calls.

Dear Yahoo Review Readers, shoes in question were purchased at another store.

A recent review was posted on the Yahoo shoe store web site referencing a complaint by Mr. Jeff Krider about the Shoe Sensation store at the Chillicothe Mall. Company officials spoke to both Mr. Krider and associates in the store about the incident. It turns out that the shoes in question were purchased at another store. As for the inappropriate comment overheard by the customer, the associate was terminated for her remarks and apologies were extended to Mr. Krider.

Shoe Sensation recently announced several management changes, promoting Melissa Henderson formerly of the Clarksville, Indiana flagship store to General Manager of the Chillicothe store. In related news, the company also relocated Mr. Rob Pritchard, Area Director for Southeast Ohio, to base out of the Chillicothe store. Shoe Sensation prides itself in customer service, and the Chillicothe location continues to post growth in market share because of the broad selection of national brands at discount prices.

Regards,

Ms. H. Hayden
Director of Personnel
