DAYTON, Ohio -- A new law went into effect in Ohio Wednesday, making it harder to purchase the main ingredient used to make the drug methamphetamine.
Store shelves may seem bare because any medicine with nasal decongestant pseudoephedrine in it is now behind the pharmacy counter.
Under the new law, stores are also required to limit the amount of the drugs sold to each person. A pharmacist said people can buy three 24-packs of the medicine at one time, which is enough to last about one month.
Pharmacy officials also said both Sudafed and Contac D are being kept behind the pharmacy counter, including their generic counterparts.
Now after reading this article, do you think its right to target certain drugs. I wonder if it is going to be a matter of time before it becomes a controlled substance completely. I don't like it because when I went to buy it the other day before knowing about the law, I had to give on a index card, name, address, phone and provide a valid ID to get it. Now, I wonder how they are tracking it from stopping me to go down to the next drug store to get it???

actully this law came out of arizona duie to a state trooper being killed while a traffic stop with many many pound sof meth.
yes its a hedssache to ask and get and sign for...but I would rather sign for it then have it blow up next door, have the toxic crap dumped in my back yard or have the people around me full of meth.
but thats just me.
heres our friends to the south making money doing it...

have you ever seen the exposions that the labs cause.
About the same as mixing any number of house hold goods can cause.
All this law does is create different avenues to get the same product and more opportunity for profit.
I'll agree that the problem needs to be fixed, but this fix is just a slight detour for those who or going to do it anyway. Any law that takes away from law bidding citizens is not a good law.
Perhaps more sheriffs like the one out in Arizona might be an answer....
Just to get ONE "package/dose" you had to fill out a card?
That's freaking insane. I know they've moved it behind the counter in PA but they only ID you if you buy "large amounts".
