OK.... so they load me up for West Palm Beach, Fl and I'm on my way... 350 miles down the road they call and ask me to check my frieght...
Every box is marked Costco...Dallas, TX....
So back to Atlanta....
Am I mad.... nope..... The only way I go to Florida is when it pays enough to run empty back to the house... If they want to pay me twice.... what do I care.....
BTW. The Dallas truck had the exact same load of couches I did. Think any of those desk jockeys were smart enough to just Fed Ex some new labels to me and have me stick them to the boxes as they came off the truck.....
what shit. your out money because of their mistake. losers
No ... no Texas... They have to pay for the waisted miles.... 700 hundred of them at 2.75 a mile.... Then they still have to pay to deliver the freight a second time....Yipee....I have to charge that much when I go into dead areas to pay for the empty return run back to where the freight is....
It's not every day I pick up a load just to fill in time and get that kind of rate... but the dumb asses load it wrong and add 700 miles to the freight bill.....
The original load only paid 581 miles to start with....
So let me see... 581 plus 700 is 1281 times...... I'm happy....
I wonder which one of these folk running around the dock is missing a huge chunk out of their ass....
I agree SU. Some of the people who work in Shipping are really stupid. I deal with their results every day. Sending the wrong load out is just Fubar sometimes. I've even seen it where a shipper has loaded a trailer with multiple stops (usually 2 or 3) with the stop they tell you to go to first in the nose of the trailer. Oh well, back to the shipper it goes. Along with any transportation costs incrued. We're not going to be held responsible for any possible damage to unloading someone elses freight.
Sometimes the shipper will use a different size case than the did originally. This means the item will have to be reprofiled and a new location found. We have strict height requirements as to where we put our merchandise. One or two inches per box makes a big difference.

There are three kinds of people in this world.
Those that make things happen.
Those that watch things happen.
Those that wonder what happened.
Which one are you?

Yea.....theroy goes....never let the left hand know what the left foot is doing.... makes to much sense..
So I show up at the receiver at 6:30 am for a 7:am apointmet....
First thing they tell me is I'm not due till Wednesday....No way man.....So being the smart feller I am, I whip out my copy of the original bills, they punch in the info and there I am....
They put me to the dock and cancel the Wednesday appointment. Makes sense....you would think...
I call my agent and explain to her what happened, She calls Pilot Air Freight and some one else looses a big chunk out of their butt....
It turns out that when I returned Friday to get the correct freight, They were supposed to leave me with the original bills, instead they signed the bills, gave me a copy and a new set of bills.
Heres the funny part, someone else's bills.....for a different load
So now they are paying for that truck to sit until Friday to unload because his Wednesday appointment got cancled....
All this because the warehouse foreman decided to go to Pittsburgh to play golf with the big wigs...
Any bets that Pilot won't pay the drivers that got screwed here... My company will pay me now... but in about two or three months, there will be a rate correction....Just my part for the extra time and miles comes to 1715 dollars, plus the other two trucks....
