Why is it when a person doesn’t listen to what you are saying and/or just doesn’t seem to pay attention to you when you are talking to them…and when they are being paid to do so…that just pisses (me) you off?
IE…Placing an order for something…
Making you repeat your name three or four times…and even spelling it for them … and they still getting it wrong…(my last name is only a four letter word)…
Making promises that they know they cannot keep. ie…I can FED-EX it to you tomorrow…
After you explain and tell them something…and making them repeat it back to you… having them come back to you after a matter of seconds and tell you the opposite…
People that just cannot think “outside the box”…their instructions tell them to do it a certain way…and if you ask them can it be done another way…having them check with a supervisor…coming back to you and telling you “yes it can be done the way you ask”…then setting it up to be done … and they still do it the old way…
Having them on speaker phone and others listening to the conversation … and having them tell you one thing…and then the next day or even minutes later…saying that they did not tell you that…
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
Making it seem like you have cursed them out … when all you did was ask a simple question….and no foul language was used at all !!!!!
Making you repeat your self … over and over… and over… when everyone else heard you the first time….
Implying that when you said something simple and to the point…that you really meant something totally different…
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plainly not listening to you when you are talking to them…having them start talking to someone else!!!!!
Is it just ME...or does anyone else have this problem??

I just called Hewlitt Packard to to tell them the adapter which FedEx left on my doorstep was apparently stolen and needed to be resent. The tech said, "Please allow me a few minutes to research your account." 20 minutes later she came back and announced, "I have found out that the adapter was left on your doorstep."

Most people don't even know how to listen even on a personal basis, why would they want to listen at work? I do know what you are saying. Pisses me off also.
No seriously most of the people that you talk to when ordering something do not know what they are doing (turnover is large), may be scared to make a decision, or be from another country. The last one is my favorite, usually all I do is say Excuse me?, I didn't understand what you said., Can you repeat that? I have had folks get mad at me for continuously having them repeat themselves. Or even better are the ones who cannot understand me, I know that I have a southern accent but I do speak English very well, or so I assume. That is why I prefer to just go to a store and buy it myself. I know that sometimes that is not possible though.
Calling HP is the worst, I have never spoken to anyone on the phone with them that I can understand. My computer crashed awhile back and it took three tries to get the recovery disks, they kept sending everything but the right disks. I was about ready to shoot the computer or someone else, as I use my home computer for work also. Was really pissed and at the time the computer was relatively new, if it happened now I would just have to buy another, but I sure wouldn't do it over the phone, who knows what I would get in the mail. Might be interesting.
