Grandma Died Today

Well, it was of those days.

It started off nice and went to crap. My 91 yr old Grandmother went into the hospital a couple of days ago and they found she was loaded with cancer and gave her a month.

So, today I decided to swing by while I working because I had heard from my brother that she had taken a turn for the worst. My father, uncles, and my cousin who was raised by her were all their and decided to take a break once I got there, and ten minutes later she died.

It's an erie feeling watching someone actually die. I've seen it once before while babysitting a mental patient in the ER, but it obviously wasn't a family member.

Now here is a little irony. Being a cop I've seen my share of dead people, but somehow I've always escaped having to do a NOK - next of kin notification. The family either found them, was suspected of killing them, was there when they hoped out the window, or the hospital/rehab clinic staff made the calls.

But today, I actually had to break the news to my own family. Weird eh? (spoken in authentic Canadian)

So, that was my crumby day and if of the gals want to help cheer me up with a sexy photo please them send to shaneb12345@hotmail.com

Thx, everyone for your kind words.

The fighting over the burial has already started, which reminds me why I actually most of you better than I do the majority of the people I share blood with.

You'd never believe me if I told you what insanely wealthy family we're descended from in the US. It's just too bad that we're the retard Canadian branch of the family tree.

I am sorry for your loss, Shane. And even more sorry that death brings out the worst in people sometimes. Good luck. I hope you are not a Kennedy boy, I met one of those once, he was quite the weirdo.

No.. not a Kenndy.. I think "we", and I use the "we" of  have more money.. I forgot to add "welfare" to the branch.. My grandfather had a grade three education and was brilliant, but was dirt poor. I think his grandfather was the last of us in Canada that had any influence in the world..

SHane, sorry to hear about your loss and once again all the bad that comes of it.  When an old uncle of mine, actually my mothers uncle I believe died he left all his money to my mothers bro.  He didnt need the money but we all could use some. He never gave his sister {my mother} or his other sister, my aunt tht just died any money.  They broke off all contact for years. Reffering to him as "you know who" at family gatherings.

Sometimes death should be a celebration, a remembrance of a good life. Tough to think of good in death but a remembrance ios good.

So sorry to hear about your loss, it is never easy to loose a loved one. My prayers are with you and yours.

I have never been able to understand why people must fight about funerals but they do for some strange reason, shouldn't happen, just makes things worse.  I am so sorry that you are having to go through this along with your loss.  Take care.
