This is Shad (Illusion's Midnight Shadow). He got pneumonia and frosted lung when he was 9 months old and almost died on me. Needless to say he never grew anymore so he is a horse on pony legs and thinks he is a dog!

And last, but not least...this is Scar (Miss Scarlette). She is the retired broodmare I saved from the slaughter auction. She's 28 now, I think she was 21 in this pic.

They're all beautiful.  My favorite is Bandit, the bay, but then I have a soft spot for bays.

LOL, I like playing tag with him. He's a trip. One of the funniest things I remember seeing with ANY animal is the time I was chasing him and it was kind of muddy. Well, I was running full speed and he was moving pretty good too. At some point he was running out of space and tried to turn and run around me real quick. Thing is, with the mud it didn't work out for him and all four feet went straight in the air and he landed right on his back!. With in 1 second he managed to jump right back up with a very prideful look of,,,, "that didn't happen", and tried to play it off but you could tell he was pissed all to hell!. I started laughing so hard I damn near pissed myself!. Course, that was untill,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, "CURT!!!!! LEAVE THAT FUCKING HORSE ALONE!".... Ugh.

It was funny, but could have been very expensive if he would have gotten hurt! Anyway....you dented his fragile ego!

Granted, the noise his body made when he hit the ground did concern me for that one second it took him to get back up. ROFLMAO

Horses are hilarious.  This morning I heard a dog barking out back, went out the door and there were 2 dogs (not mine) messing with the turkeys and chickens.  I was just about to holler at them when I heard a snort, it was my blue horse was coming down the hill at full speed, head cocked, snorting.  Ran those dogs clear off the place and they were on the other side of the fence.  After he was finished he pranced around and continued to show his stuff.  It was like he was saying "Look what I did, I am so good"!  Was beautiful and funny at the same time.  Love to watch them.

LMAO....Bandit has 5 wild turkeys that have decided to befriend him, he hasn't agreed with their decision though....he will tear after them and they will split up and go all directions and he starts one way and then turns to the other and so on until he is so discusted he just goes and hides in his barn! Pretty soon all 5 turkeys are headed toward his barn and he tears out of there and starts all over again!!! Cracks me up watching him get all frustrated...

The movie "Black Stallion" was my fav. I was 14 when I found Shad advertised, the owner said he was a "mistake". The stallion got loose and bred the mare and he just wanted to get rid of the foal. Shad was 8 weeks old when I first saw him and I knew...he could be my "black stallion" and that was no mistake, so I bought him ($50). I kept him a stud until he was 14, he sired 2 beautiful jet black foals that are very tall. He was an absolute sweetheart of a stud, he never acted up. I used to ride him without a bridal all the time. He doesn't even need a halter, he just follows me everywhere! He is the sweetest horse I have ever owned. He is really fat and furry for the winter right now, it's like a big teddy bear! He can count, give hugs, bow, and fetch...LOL

Hey. I'm not nearly that old. Maybe I should go out to stud. I can do all of those things and I can even clean my own stall.

I personally wonder if men aren't just a little jealous of horses.

I am not jealous of a women on a horse, I give the horse some credit. How many males can you think of that can carry that much weight around for miles on end and still be happy.

OUCH!!!!!

Just kidding females.

Sounds like the life. I miss being around horses. City life can be a drag when you quit partying.

Yea. Done both. City life is for the very young, and the very old. The yound have lots of people to play with. The old have close hospitals and CVS's. The rest live in their own life, which can't happen in a city. There just is no freedom.
