I dreamed up this cake ... kind of like someone was giving me the recipe as I slept ... maybe my Dad ... he was always coming up with some kind of new and unusual recipe ... especially around the holiday's ....
So far I have 5 layers done ... I am waiting for the 5th layer to chill/firm before I can do the next layer ...
I hope it turns out the way I dreamed ... so far it is doing well ... the next two layers are the tricky part ... so I will let you know how it turns out when I finish it later ...
so far each layer has ... well ... my son ... my taste tester ... said ... "tasted yummy"
Now will it all hold together?????

Yeahhh ... I got it done ...
Well it is finished ... it turned out good ... or that is what SU and my son said ... I let them taste the final creation ...
It took me all day ... but ... I was doing some house cleaning while I was working on it also ... but I did have to let each layer set before I could add the next layer ...
Now I have to start all over and make the second one ... the first one is going with us to My Moms and the second one is going with us to SU's family gathering ...
It will take me a little while to actually type out the full receipe but I will post it when I get it wrote down ...

That's no red velvet cake, this is red velvet cake:
I do love red velvet cake, you have to be so careful making it though.
I only know one person around here who can make a decent red velvet cake and it sure isn't me. She always makes one for Christmas where I used to work, never even liked it until I tried hers. I now know that it is a good cake if made right.

I know what you mean, some of them don't have the right texture. And some people try to get fancy with them, and that cake doesn't need all of that extra stuff.

Well it was a hit .... we were only at SU's brothers house for about an hour and ... there was only one slice left ... at that time ... we had to leave and go to my Mom's ...
I did get a couple pics of it before it got cut ...

But that was it Peaches ... no cooking required ...
If you can mix a little ... then most of the stuff was instant ... except for the Knox Gel. and all it needed was some hot water to desolve it ... the rest was a little bit of time waiting for the layers to chill/set ...
Anyway ... I guess it did take a little patience ... and follow up/through ... anyway ... thanks Peaches ...

You're welcome. It is the follow up that I would have a problem with, it would probably take me more than a day to make. I compliment you on making more than one in a day, never would happen with me.
