Yeah. But that was because they were unstoppable and they knew it. They dominated the game and played as a TEAM. I didn't watch many of the games back then and I do not now. BUT, I can name Payton, McMahon, McMichael, Perry, Fencik, Buddy Ryan, Ditka, Dent, Singletary, Suey, Marshall, Duerson, Gault, Covert, Wilson, Hampton, Rivera (who was a coordinator this year and i think he now has a head coach job). 17! Mostly because of all the nedia coverage they got back then and even now. So let's see who I come up with for this year's team: Grossman, Urlacher, Vasher, Hester, Lovie, Gould?, ummmm oh yeah TANK, and Tom Jones ( only because of two other MORE famous Tom Jones). 8! I think it says alot for a team when you can name alot of their members with out having been glued to the screen or memorizing a program. The Bears especially Grossman were SOOO inconsistant it made for a white knuckler most of the time.
Oops forgot Butler who I think has the most points scored by a single Bear in club history.

Also most of these guy's numbers should be reitred just from the sheer fact that they could NEVER live up to or play like them.
Did any body notice that the roles for #'s 8 and 9 were reveresed for this years Super Bowl Bears and 85's Butler #8 FG/kicker--- Mcmahon #9 QB Grossman #8 QB Gould? #9 FG/ Kicker

You have a very good point about them dominating the game that year. I've never been a big football fan or very knowledgeable about football details, but even I knew the name and position of almost everyone on that team.
