Screwed Up Drivers

Move over from the Motor Home Thread ......

Well you see Ohio is ... in my opinion ... stupid for having two speed limits for cars and trucks to begin with .... in my opinion ...

It just causes the cars and trucks to act more stupid than normal !!!!

In a three lane highway .... where the trucks are allowed to use the second lane ... they should be able to do so .... especially if they are moving faster than the cars that are getting on and off the freeway and going 40 or 45 .... and having to keep slamming on their breaks to miss the ones that race in front of them just in time to get off the exit ramp ... especially if the speed limit for the whole road .... cars and trucks is ... 55 mph ...

I have see this TOOOOOOOOO many times and it scares the HELL out of me when they do it ...
____________________________________________________

Well .... If two lanes in one direction .... in a split speed limit state .... yea trucks in the right lane unless passing .... three or more lanes .... then I'll use two in heavy traffic for the reason IO explained ..... rather get a ticket then kill some moron .....

The problem with Ohio and other states like it ..... Some truck drivers will run about 53 till you try to pass them ..... then they speed up to how ever fast your willing to run in the fast lane .... Why .... Thats easy ... so the cop will give you a ticket for speeding ..... Most cops never consider this and just pull over the guy trying to pass ....

But I have a cure for it ..... When they speed up ... I jump on the radio and holler there's a bear round here ...... And they slow right back down so I can pass ....

So while we are at it .... Why do you four wheelers speed up when some one try's to pass ....
Can't count the times I've got back in the right lane just to slow back down and wind up two feet off your ass .... Try to pass again .... speed up ... slow back down to have me on your ass again .... Is it that you just want me to shove eighty thousand pounds up your ass .....

On time .... long ago in a far away galaxy ..... after trying to pass a car like this three or four times .... I decides to see just how fast one would have to go to pass a car running five miles an hour under the speed limit ....... It was about two AM in a remote ares .....

When we started ... he was doing sixty in a sixty five ...... At ninety eight ... he was still beside me ..... I put my blinker on to move back over ... and he just sat beside me .... soooo ... we go triple digit .... any guess where the idiot stayed ..... right next to my drive tandems ...... The answer is ... we'll never know ... at about one oh five ... I put my blinker on again and just moved over .... lots of brake lights on his part and he decided I did play nice so he backed off and went back to his original speed to wait for his next victim ..

Any how ..... Most the time when some one is scaring me .... I just get off a ramp ... stop at the top a little long then necessary .... then jump back on .... But I've had cars do the same thing just to wait on me after I did this .... I could tell you the lengths I have to go through to get rid of unsafe drivers that just stick to my truck going down the road ... but you would just freak ..... In a perfect world ... I could stop and take a break for awhile .ever time it happens ... but when would I deliver the freight ???? Sp Io just rides and prays that some idiot don't decide to commit suicide on our truck today ....

Now ... before you say it ..... idiots drive trucks to ...... but I ain't got time right now to tell that story ... maybe later ....

BC ... As for your post in Motor Homes .....

Honestly, I do not like driving around a lot of trucks. I am very respectful of them and learned to watch the mirrors (thanks, SU), but I really hate driving around them. It doesn't bother me if traffic is moving at a steady rate of speed, but during rush hour in stop-and-go traffic, I always have a fear that a truck driver is just going to change lanes and slam right into my car. If traffic is stopped and you're in the trucker's blind spot and can't move, you just have to hope that he's not an asshole and decides to change lanes. I've seen it happen more than once.

.......................................................

I would much rather from a leagle stand point be involved in a side swipe then a rear end .... For one thing .... Less chance of a fatality .... And thank you for thinking ..... not much of that going on on the road these days ....

I can honestly say I agree with you BC ... in a car ... I still get a little squeamish around big rigs ... but I have more respect for them now that I have been traveling in one for a while ... thanks to SU ...

I would still rather be behind one so I can see his mirrors and he is not on my ass ... but in stop-and-go traffic ... I see your point ...

What we all have to do is .... learn to share the road ... and try not to let the traffic make us go "Postal" or "Road Rage" ....

I have learned that the trucks are bigger them I, therefore I will let them in front of me.
Yes I pis off drives doing this, but I know I can drive, and that my breaks work.

A couple years back, there was a truck enforcement stop that was played out on the news- he had warrents out, so he went away in cuffs, but before that....he had 60 cites of bad mecahnical problems. One of which almost no breaks. (eek be very scared)

and with a full load, thats a lot to hit......

I let trucks in whenever necessary, and I agree with you - I'd much rather be behind one.  SU has given me a different persepctive on trucking.  My previous experiences with truckers (delivering and/or picking up from our plant) had not been good ones.

But it's not just cars versus trucks ... It's driver versus driver ... to some of theses people ... really don't matter what they are driving ....

Two cops on a bridge the other day shooting radar watched as a truck passing me notices them and runs me into the emergency lane trying not to get a ticket for speeding ...

Think the cops pull him over ,... nope ... they got the guy in the car that shot up beside the other truck before the truck was half way out of the left lane .....

no ons cares ... It's get the fuck out of my way and which ticket collects the biggest fines

I think I'll have my head hunter look for a good fry cook position for me ......

Every truckdriver have a limited vision on his side mirrors. It dosenīt matter how big there are.
I fought every day against the dead angle.

Looking right ... to turn onto a road .... the way my truck is set up ... I can miss an entire 18 wheeler behind the right side mirror .... So losing a car there is quite easy ....One must alway remember to lean forward and look behind it ....

SO if your in a car and a truck is pulling into the road from the left side .... he may not see you even though you have a clear view of the truck ...

As My truck moves ... and you move coming closer ... the way the angles work ... I'll never see you until it way to late ....

Yea ... I had this happen to me just yesterday ... I was driving up the road and a truck was pulling out ... I must have been just in that spot ... and All I could do was lay down on my horn ... and stomp on my breaks ... scared me to death ... lucky for both of us no one was coming in the other direction and he was able to miss us and us him ...

I happens ....
