2 TBS butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 package (17 1/2 oz size) frozen puff pastry, thawed 8 large tart apples, pared and sliced
1. Heat butter and brown sugar in saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until melted. 2. Add apples, cook 20 to 25 minutes, stirring frequently until syrup thickens - remove from heat. 3. Heat oven to 400. 4. Roll pastry into 10 1/2 inch square, then cut into an approximately 10 1/2 inch circle. 5. Pour apples and syrup into a pie pan, carefully place pastry on top of apple mixture. 6. Very carefully, use a sharp knife to cut a few slits into the pastry, then tuck edges of pastry around apples. 7. Bake 15-20 minutes or until pastry is brown. 8. Let stand 5 minutes, cover with serving plate and turn upside down...remove pie pan carefully. 9. Serve with Apple Brandy Cream
Apple Brandy Cream
1 cup whipping cream 1 TBS apple brandy
Beat ingredients until soft peaks form, you don't want it to be too stiff.
You can use regular brandy or even rum instead of the apple brandy.
