LAZY POS COP!!!

Okay I need to vent!!

Yesterday morning, taking kiddo to the babysitter's house about 0630, the roads are solid ice, and it is 30 min before my shift starts.  I realize I am making good time, I drop her off and start to head into work.  I'm in my car, in my uni, and ready to roll for the day.  At 0630 I heard a day shift officer call out that he was on shift at the station.  I see on the computer and hear on the mic that a shit storm has started with a few graves officers, I start to roll that way just in case.  Witihin a minute the Sgt on scene tells dispatch, he needs ALL available officers to this locataion ASAP! I instantly tell them I'm enroute, and try to hustle on the ice.  I NEVER HEAR THE BONEHEAD AT THE STATION CALL OUT!  Next thing we have dispatch giving Emergency Traffic ONLY on the radio to that location, I start hustling faster.... STILL not hearing BONEHEAD call out from the station.  HE HIS LESS THAN A MILE AWAY! I get within a few blocks of the station (it's on the way to the call) and the Sgt over there comes on and says Code Four (officers okay) the other officers can disregard, they have 3 suspects in custody.  I still head that way in case, when the Sgt comes on and asks for ANY available officer with a tazer to respond ASAP.  SHIT!!  I don't have a tazer, but I'm close to the station where the secret squirrel stash is.  THE OFFICER AT THE STATION STILL DOESN'T RESPOND! By now we have the day shift Sgt, responding too.  A graves worker who has 2 in booking said she would break to take the tazer, I tell her no I've got it.  I run in, grab a tazer, and the Sgt, says diregard, and two officers from the scene call out enroute to the station with uncooperatives.  I decide to stay at the station to assist with the assholes in booking.  I walk through the bull pen and the BONEHEAD officer at the station is on the computer fucking around on a web-site NOT work related!

OKAY THIS PISSES ME OFF!!!!!

How can you ignore officers requests for assistance??  I understand day shift doesn't start until 0700, but if you called out on-duty, what the fuck are you thinking by not responding????

Granted I am new, and probably too eager to help, but if you get to the point that you won't help at all, shouldn't you QUIT??

Sorry and thanks for letting me vent!

I totally agree. If you are too the point where you dislike your job so much you put your fellow officer's lives on the line....go find a desk job somewhere. The streets arent for you anymore. I dont what time you come onduty. If you are there and someone needs help you better be busting your ass getting there

You know what, it won't matter to me.  I can't be that way, blue is blue even if you are yellow underneath it.  (Kinda like this little yellow guy in blue! LOL)

I just pray when I call out, others are available for me. So far, so good, but you never know...

It's even worse when "they" get transfered into primo sections!!!

The two biggest dog fuckers on the watch last year got moved into drug section and criminal intel section, two awesome postings.

Both these guys were slugs that rarely left the office. One of them would get an MVA before us 7 o'clockers would start, and he would milk it for the WHOLE DAY!!

Damn, what would these guys do if you had a 11-99 officer down.

Run and hide?  Sorry for the rant, but Stanislaus Co, Ca. where I live, has had 2 Line of Duty Deaths in 2 years. There are a lot of non LEO's such as myself who take LODD's very seriously.  Funeral for Number 2 is this Thursday.  see www.odmp.com for more details.  You guy's and gal's put your lives on the line for us.  This Hurts.

Quopper, I'm going to give you the same advice a crusty ol' door-kicker gave me.

In this business, it really doesn't matter who you like or who you hate. What matters is who you are willing to trust when you have to kick in a door.

I met officers who I think are great guys/gals, but I wouldn't want to enter a house with them.

I met officers I who I hated and thought they were dicks, but they knew there job and I'd go into a house with them any day of the week.

It's obvious that you don't want to enter a house with this guy. If you have to, be sure he's in front. That's all you can really do.

Centurion, I know.  Granted I am a rookie on the job, but I have enough life experience at my age to pin point the good vs. the bad on the job or off.  And your right, that one isn't going to be of any assitance with anything.  Hell, half my fucking shift is worthless and just waiting for retirement.

Take him out back and shoot him the head. Cops that donīt back up on assistence calls will have a hard time when they call for it.
