The Pastorale is my favorite of all Beethoven's symphonies, too.  But I prefer Mozart.  His melody lines are the best, and no one does a better fugue.

Ninja, you are absolutely right! Motzart is awsome! We might have to go to a classical concert while we are in Rome on our date--that would be cool!
