I spent a great deal of time reading and configuring NIS as a safety precaution though. Once i figured out the basic lingo, it went much faster. Then it was just a matter of turning off ports I didn't need open and limiting the ports I did need to use. I ran a security scanner you posted one night a while back, my pc is pretty secure...I was relieved!


Man....this scanner is quick, I have some rather large drives and it is buzzin right along...impressive!

nope...not Quest....have heard of them though.....


BTW, have you heard of Xoftspy (adware/spyware remover)? I used that for awhile, but they changed their software and it got all goofy on my pc. I dumped it and started using AdawareSE by Lavasoft. It seems to do a pretty good job...or does it???? LOL So far this scanner has only found 2 tracking cookies....

scan complete.....only 2 tracking cookies and I let it delete them.....I did bookmark that page though for future referrence!

in my opinion i think you should look for an alternative to Norton since you are behind a router. something that will take up less resources

once I closed all the windows except this browser...I am down to 29 processes and it cut the memory usage way down.....that soundforge program is a hog and a half...but a dam good music ripper/editor!
