OK, did anyone actually see the movie. I have not but need to know what Ennis got in the end (not the rear end you pervs). I am having an email discussion with an old Army buddy. We were the very best of friends while in the Army, after getting out I told him that I am gay. He is a bible thumper. He gave me the standard it is a sin and God loves you lines and we grew apart. Just this last week (12 years later I have held my tongue, can you believe that) I have decided that I have had enough of his silence. We would talk every now and then, but is was always awkward and always initiated by me. I have always felt a void, as if something was unfinished between us because we never had it out so to say. The recent emails have been interesting to say the least, and surprisingly it has not been a Pentecostal recruitment drive. He has surprised me on his openness and interest in the subject, but he maintains his it is sin and God loves you stance. Another issue is that I can never get a straight answer out of him on some things. I asked him where we stood as friends and what is our future. His reply is below, but I am left with the
The future: Don't be Ennis. You'll see when your Netflix is delivered. Quit being such a sissy and go see the movie too. I went by myself and felt like an idiot. No one could believe I went and all laughed when I did. Now I am qualified to say what I want about the movie though. I snuck in late when everyone had already paid. I went at the deadest time of day and still felt like everyone was staring at me.
I would just go see the movie, but the closest movie theater is 45 miles away. It will be out on Netflix soon, but I want to know now and he wont give me any other answer.
