Lackland is a nice place just as US said. i was there for a 3 week K9 course. Lackland is where they train all the K9 handlers for all services of the militay.

make sure you get yourself some chigger repellent. chiggers are tiny little spider like bugs that you cant see but will leave a extremely itcy and lumpy bite that will eventualy turn too some oozing of puss.

and if you are old enough..all the strip clubs in Texas are "b.y.o.b." so that means it's legal to bring your own alcohol to the clubs..cheaper for you that way.

and take US's advice..stay away from the eastside! i went on a wide along when i was there and was nothing but non stop action the whole night..crazy shit goes on there.

The nude beach is NW Austin...by the lakes. I have never been there.....too scared to go. 6th street is scary enough these days....and the women are usually in a state of barely dressed while they are partying anyway...its Austin.

San Antonio will take good care of you......you will have a little culture shock at first, but will get over it soon. You will leave a Spurs fan even though they wont be playing while you are there....I am sure of it.

We had to do that in Army Basic, too. Brasso became our friend for this project. There has to be something else that is done to get the point across that the Recruit screwed up and needs to be taught a lesson. Something more physical. Unless Basic has become more lax since I went in 20 yrs ago. If this is the case, I stand corrected.

i know the army and marines still valor the push-up as a corrective mesure..but by all accounts basic is more relaxed then it was 20 years ago, especialy in the army..even the wieght standards have been drasticly reduced
