I know I am not BCups, but I thought I would throw my 2 cents in anyway. I never use a recipe. I usually just take a bunch of stuff out of the fridge and the cabinet and throw it into a ziploc bag. Just make sure you have something acidic. The acid loosens up the protiens in the meat and makes it tender.

MIB, that's absolutely correct. You also want to have some type of oil which will help evenly disperse the marinade over the meat.

Bread Styx, you Texans sure do eat interesting foods. *Note to self: don't eat marinated steaks at the Casa de Bread Styx.

Ok, here is one of my old standby favorites, adjust it to your liking:

3 TBS Worcestershire sauce
1 TBS Tabasco soy sauce
1 TBS fresh lemon juice
1 TBS olive oil
2 tsp honey
2 minced garlic cloves

Sometimes I use lime juice either instead of or along with the lemon juice, or use only 1 tsp honey. That's a nice basic marinade, you can add other things to it or mix and match with other ingredients.

Add some minced habaneros to it if you want it spicy.

Vinegar is actually a good thing to put on meat..isnt it. Makes it tender. Urine....I dont think so.
