Just a little pissed off right now and need to vent.
So I got this PM from a certain administrator not named Tim that warned me about posting racial pictures. Any further violations would be grounds to terminate my account.
So I PM back asking "what racial pics are you talking about?"
Today, I finally get a response that goes something like this:
Sir, you have repeatedly posted sexually explicit pictures on the site and posted links with sexual content.
WTF? The closest thing I ever posted to nakedness was that picture of the two homeless people asking for money and that didn't show any boobies, backside, or genitalia of any type!
As for links, I filter them the best I can and the worst I have seen was pg-13 bikini pics as advertisments on the side of the content. I can not be held responsible if the website changes the content after I posted the original link.
So, at first, I was accused of posting racial pictures. When I ask where, I don't get an answer, but I get another accusation of posting sexual pictures. Now that the thread where these "violations" happened is gone (so damn typical) I have no way of proving them wrong.
Total bullshit! I have been accused of things I didn't do before at work, and as always, evidence that would prove me wrong without specualtion looming disapears. So typical of administrators everywhere. I just hate being accused of something without proof! Twice I have asked "where, show me" and I get nothing.
It may be cold comfort, but you aren't the only person who's had that experience. I've never received any warnings from them, but I know that others have and in each case, the administrators do not give specifics, which is unfair.
I saw most (if not all) of the pics that you posted there and I didn't find any to be offensive or inappropriate.

I don't feel so bad. I am willing to follow the policies they put in place. But if I violate them, I don't think it's too much to ask to be shown the violation.
Don't feel bad Ejay I got banned for 30 days over there before for hanging with Quopper and Swatcop Wow, you can get banned just for hanging with people?

I finally got another reply from the admin. All they said is that several people reported some of the pics I posted. They didn't say which ones or from what thread.
I wrote back saying that it just goes to show that they don't check for themselves cause three times I have asked what specific pic they are talking about and they never do answer me on that. Guess I'll have to keep it raded G so I don't piss off people.
You know what they say, you don't have the right not to be offended.
ejay, that really stinks that they won't even give you specifics. I mean, these guys are cops and they are dealing primarily with cops on that site. You would think they would be a little more structured on how they accuse and try people for offenses!
Probably they looked at the pics, said, "Oh yeah, I can see where that would offend Grandma," and they delete it. You ask them about it the next day, and they don't remember anything about it.

Well I don't want to know who complained. People who report post should be able to remain anonymous.
Someone named Tim once said it is nice to have someone bring up an issue like that with a person, rather than a faceless "Sir, stop violating forum rules! Thanks, webteam."
I agree fullheartedly with what Tim said. Selective moderation at it's best IMO. It is their forum so they can rule it as they see fit though.
When has SHERIFF broken the rules? And he seems to take it in stride when he gets flamed by all the whiners.
As a real "police officer", trust me, SHERIFF leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to policing, and siding with him will only leave you looking foolish in the end.

There is a reason why he continously gets flamed by new o.com members. And that reason is because he is so out of touch with policing, that real police officers think he's a fraud.
And the reason the older o.com members leave him only is because o.com refuses to deal with him. He was verified to be an LEO at some point by LEF, but he was punted from there in less than a month.

Come on folks. Lets keep this about the topic at hand, false accusations. If you want to talk smack about forum members, please open another thread. Who talked smack about forum members? I wasn't talking about you, if that's what you think.
There's a group of people on O.com who are actively and deliberately going after Sheriff. It relates to the subject of this thread in that if enough people keep complaining on him, he WILL be banned, whether there's a justifiable reason or not. It's all a matter of how many people complain about you.

Correct. Got into a debate with moderator about pursuits. He then misused his admin tools to award me "warning points" for disagreeing with him. The owner of the site removed the "warning points". So the rest of the mods thought I had kicked Stan's ass (which I had), and they voted to remove me.
Learn the facts before you make a blanket statement.
LEF will never amount to anything IMHO. Because of the mentalities over there. It's sad to think that some of them might really be cops.
Ahhh yes. The false accusations. While I have somehow managed to stay clear of any action by the mods over there, I did catch a world of shit from some users who accused me of having a certain member kicked off.... again. Like I said there, I really don't give a flip who posts there.
I've gotten to the point where it is almost a drag. Every flipping topic that is remotely interesting has been deleted and I'm such a crude guy that I worry I'll get someone's panties in a wad. Someone hand me a beer...
