O.K. I recieved a phone call today that my sister up and walked out of her home saying she was going to commit suicide. She has been reported as a missing person - endangerment. She did answer the phone for me once today but she will not answer it anymore. At this time she will not answer the phone for anyone and the state of Alabama is looking for her. The problem is if they pull her over and she seems ok they will let her go. I am hoping she will come here but who knows what's going on in her mind at this point. She is a manic depressant that may not be taking her meds. What do you do?

Damn, laboo. I am so sorry. You must be worried about her. I am not a psychiatrist so i will not give advice. I will just say that I hope it all ends well and she has faith in you to come to you for some help. Good luck in your journey. We all have roads to travel, some worse than others.
How far away is she? Is she too far for you to go see her? Is there anyone else in her area that you can call?
If she has threatened suicide, how can they just let her go if they find her? I don't know what laws or procedures there are, but it seems like you should have some way of making sure she gets help.
I'm so sorry you're going through this right now, Laboo. You must be worried sick about her.

I talked to my neighbor who is an officer. He says there is not law against suicide. If they stop her and she is unstable then they can take her in if not they can let her go. If her husband can get a commitment order then if they pull her over they can take her in for a physco evaluation. I am just waiting for a call either way. But my neighbor officer said that he did recieve the bulliton this afternoon about the situation. He just did not know the location would be next door if she shows up.

Uh, has anyone contacted her cell phone provider to find out the area she is in? Depending on the age of her phone, they may even be able to get the exact GPS (lat/Long). Some states can only access this info if the person calls 911 on the cell and both the phone and the 911 center are Phase II compliant. At a minimum, the service provider can provide the location of the nearest tower that she is hitting off of, and the will narrow the area down that she is in. She need not be using the phone to get the nearest tower info. It is likely that a LE agency will have to request this information from the service providers security dept.
I went looking for her ay a grave yard that her ex-husband is buried. During that time she called her husband. At this time she is being questioned by the police. I am waiting for an update myself.......

Good to hear that she is in safe hands and getting evaluated.
even tho she feels better when taking her meds, she has to keep taking them or this just strts repeating itself. When I have a Bi polar I always compare it to a diabetic or some one taking antibatics.. Debetic- they have to keep the blood sugar in check anf stable or there are gonna be problems. 9get the blood work done, make sure the levels are right and she is taking them on time) and the antibatics make you feel better but if you stop taking them, the problems come back and its hard to get the infection out.(the mental health issues return and you ahve to restablize on meds and possable chage them also)
