Discrimination in Houston?

I'd thought this was a hoax when I frist read it, but I can't find anything to disprove it (yet). Those of you in the Houston area, is this legit?

Allegedly the letter below was sent by the owners of Garden Guy, Inc. landscapers to a potential client. If you go to their website (www.garden-guy.com), look at the forum and the responses to this topic. Unbelievable.

Dear Mr. XXXX,

I am appreciative of your time on the phone today and glad you contacted us. I need to tell you that we cannot meet with you because we choose not to work for homosexuals.

Best of luck in finding someone else to fill your landscaping needs.

All my best,

Sabrina

RE: Discrimination in Houston

Key words there. "Work for" which means it is their choice and not a discrimination case by normal standards.

Businesses have the right to choose thier clients. It's like saying "no thank you, I am not interested in your services"

That's very true, ejay, and I should actually somewhat amend the title of this thread.

I know that people have every right to their opinions and beliefs, I guess it just saddens me.

Oh, I dont hate Houston, at all......my mom spent a large portion of her life there, I have family galore over there and that is where I met my husband and got married. There are just no job opportunities for hubby in Houston so that is why a Houston move would never happen....that's all.

Just because I say I'm in NJ, you never really know exactly where I am at any given point in time.
