I tolerated it quite well, my arm is sore, been running a little low grade fever and a few achy joints. The usual for me. But it sure beats getting the flu.
yes you get the low grade and do the weekend in bed thing when you get the shot. Mom got it wedesday...tells me I need to get it...
I wont. every time I get the flu shot ...I get the FLU. usally really bad.
I dont bother with the shot, and havent had the flu in years.
1. wash hands OFTEN. yes use the prell stuff also.
2. dont get NEAR anyone sneezing, coughing and acting sick.
3. lysol spray that phone of mine all the time. (even out of flu season) I got strep throat many times (like 7 in a row) of someone using that phone with out wiping it down. (pet peeve)
4. spray the hose, group room and other places daily , espaciall if one of the client has it. I also send them home, and tell them they are excused for 3 days, to come back w/o a fever and such. just make it up. (not only do I have wide range of ages in my groups I ahve , at this time, at least 5 people that are HIV positive. No I dont make that known, but i say in the interst of the group dont get everyone sick)

I'm always taking people's used kleenexes, so I want to get a flu shot. (If the people in the O.com Hand Sanitizer thread knew what a dirty girl I was, they would Sanitize-and-Feather me.) But every year I forget until it's too late. After a certain point they tell me the shot won't go into effect until flu season is over, so I might as well not have it.

I'm pretty bad about that, too. I cannot stand being around people who don't use the proper precautions when sneezing, coughing, or rubbing their noses or eyes. Yes, I do keep hand sanitizer and wipes with me all of the time. Airplanes are the absolute worst, I keep thinking about that recirculated air. One of the main reasons I maintain an airline club membership is because the bathrooms are cleaned with greater frequency than those in the terminals.

I usually forget to get one and manage to escape the flu, but I am a bit immuno-supressed (is that spelled right) and should get one every year. I guess my daughter should too since she is at school with mega cooties and kids with snotty noses and nasty coughson occasion. tis the season for runny noses and nasty coughs. If they dont have a fever or spewing vomit or exploding poop, they can go to school.....cold cooties or whatever. Thats life.
