Co-worker commits suicide

I used to work with this guy. GOod good person.  He was one of the first Pittsburgh PD bike officers back in 1995.  Last I worked with him was around 2003 on night turn.  He had some neck problems and had some surgery and Last I knew when I left  Pittsburgh was he was off on a medical retirement... What a fuckin shame... Good guy

Thursday, October 26, 2006

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The police officer whom investigators said shot himself in the chest yesterday died just after midnight today, the Allegheny County medical examiner said.

Kevin Pushic, an off-duty Pittsburgh police officer, shot himself around 10:20 p.m. at his residence in Swisshelm Park, investigators said.

Mr. Pushic was 41 and had been on the force since 1993.

He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian, where he was pronounced dead at 12:10 a.m., the medical examiner said.

An autopsy is scheduled later today.

I am so sorry he got to the point where he felt life was too painful to face any more.  May he rest in peace.

And I hope his family and friends can find some kind of peace, knowing his pain has ended.  My heart goes out to them.

Man, I'm so sorry to hear that.

Whenever I read of something like that, it just hurts.  You wish there was a way to reach those people and help them find something worth living for, before they take that final step.

If you need to talk, PM me....I'm a great listener.

Iam not sure what E-con is trying to say so on this thread, IGNORE IT..

To the people who took this serious and said or tried to say something nice, thank you.

The coroner ruled it officially a suicide yesterday so,  another good person is lost.

Too much crap this year.  First a good friend of a good friend commits suicide, then my aunt dies in Sept. and now this....Holy fuck.  Bad things come in threes so I think Iam done.

I think E-con is throwing a religious spin on this without actually saying it!

I am sorry; you are wise to ignore him.

Yes, there is nothing but wisdom to ignoring a "possible" reality of life! (or death). Good call bread!

Another thing, I don't mean to disrespect to the man. He obviously thought he had some problems, and personally I believe he has bigger ones now. BUT, to sit here and tell someone that you are sorry for "THEIR" loss when all they lost was an friend, when in fact it is the poor guy that died is the one who has really lost!!! To me, that’s pathetic and more disrespectful then anything I have said! It's just out of place. That would be like kneeling down to plushes kid and saying, "I'm sorry your mommy can't find a real man!"  It would just be,,,,,,,, out of place!!   (sorry plush, I had too.....) ROFLMAO

Well, now, why couldnt you just say that from the start. You are too much like my husband and it really bugs me...instead of just saying what is on your mind, which makes you seem human and maybe a little sesitive.....you both skirt around issues and make yourselfs out to look like insensitive jerks.

Holy fuck people.  The point of my thread was to say a co-worker just killed himself.  I appreciate the replies.  The man was a cop, a father, a co-worker {at my last job} son, brother, etc.  HE decided his problems on this fucking green marble were too much to deal with and killled himself.  SHOW A MODICUM of decency in this terrible time to show a teensy weensy bit of respect and say Sorry E,

To those that did, thanks.
If ya got nuttin nice to say in a serious thread then shut the fuck up.  If you dont give a rats ass about him and his decision to kill himself FINE thats your decision.  DOnt fuckin come on here and say FUk ME, it wasnt me, it wasnt my brother or dad, it was just a co-worker....

yeah we all know LIFE ALWAYS ends in death. That was not the point of my thread.  He was 41 fuckin years old.  NOT 91 assmunch....

Ugh, I give up! OK we will do it your way..... Sorry 'E' that your friend/co-worker killed himself and is putting everyone else in such misery. As for his decision, if I am suppose to respect it,?,?, ok I do. And I'm sorry he was 41 and not 91 which clearly people must deserve to die.

E-con, everyone who posted in this thread did so to offer condolences to Eman. Whether those words are acceptable to you as a form of condolence or not is irrelevant, as they were not spoken to or intended for you. Maybe it's not shocking or saddening to you to suddenly lose a friend to suicide, I don't know. I do know that no one is asking to you opine on the philosphy or semantics of sympathy OR on the sudden death of a 41 year old man.

Eman lost a friend and a brother LEO. Certainly, this gentleman's death will affect many others. However, it's not up to me or you or anyone to make the determination as to the degree of loss that's suffered by him or any one of his friends or family members. I didn't know him, but I do know that Eman is a friend of mine, and when my friends are grieving I am going to offer whatever comfort I can.

I think it was very rude and unnecessary for you to disrupt this thread the way that you did, and you know better. Don't attack someone's grief. If you want to share your opinions on death, suicide, loss, condolences.....go right ahead, but don't do it in this thread.

Eman.... If you need to talk. You know where to find me. If I am not online try sending me a message. Again, I am sorry for your loss. Ignore all these negative comments.

IMHO, it is NEVER wrong to offer condolences to someone who has lost a friend.  I've felt the pain of loss enough times to know how devastating it can be.  When I hear of someone else's loss, memories of the pain I've know, returns.  It is human to share in the pain of loss...regardless of whether that loss is a friend or family member, we still grieve.  To belittle that, or make light of if--for ANY reason--is cruel, inhuman, and unnecessary.  If you don't wish to express condolences...DON'T.  It's that simple.

Some wise person once said, 'If you don't have something nice to say, keep your damned trap shut.'

Good advice, that!
