Sausage Cornbread Stuffing
1 pkg. Flavor Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage 1 cup finely chopped onion 2 cups chopped celery 1 cup diced mushrooms 1 teaspoon dried rosemary 1/4 cup chopped parsley 4 cups crumbled cornbread 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning 1 cup chicken broth
Preheat oven to 325 F. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until thoroughly cooked and no longer pink. Add onion, celery, mushrooms and rosemary; cook 10-12 minutes or until onion is translucent, stirring frequently. Transfer mixture to a large bowl, add remaining ingredients and stir well. Pour into a buttered 2-quart casserole dish. Bake covered for 35-40 minutes.
since I usally do a 22 poinder, I double this and have some in a pan and the majority in the turkey.
1 cup (6 ounces) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts
1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell*
Sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
*If using frozen pie shell, use deep-dish style, thawed completely. Bake on baking sheet; increase baking time slightly.
PREHEAT oven to 325°F.
BEAT eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy. Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat in butter. Stir in morsels and nuts. Spoon into pie shell.
BAKE for 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between outside edge and center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm with whipped cream.
We always have these bread sticks! They are so simple to make, nothing to them really. The younger kids get them to snack on while everyone is waiting for the turkey to cook and while we watch TV. Then there are more on the table once dinner is started!
Bread Sticks
Combine and let sit:
1 tbsp Yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 tbsp Sugar
Combine in large bowl:
3+ cups of Flour (start with 3 and adjust as needed)
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp garlic salt
Add flour mixture to yeast mixture. Stir until dough is still sticky but workable. Let rest for 10 minutes. Melt 1 cube butter in shallow baking pan. Roll dough into sticks, place on buttered pan, rolling to coat with butter. Sprinkle more parmesan cheese over all when done rolling. Let raise in warm place 15-30 minutes. Bake at 475 degrees for 10 minutes.
