MP noted that there are plenty of weapons in the LASD's arsenal which would have led to a positive outcome.  But if this is the LAPD, they may not have the same weapons, and therefore may have been forced to resort to lethal force much earlier.

well, if you'd actually watch the video you would know it's LASD that is envolved. but regardless...both agencies have less then lethal weapons.

Not sure what you are saying.  Let me make myself perfectly clear. I think they waited too long to shoot him.  When you are reacting to a threat, you are too late.  The only problem I see is that the dog got taken out in the process.  I do think that there was a command and control issue, but the job got done just the same.
