Dip recipe

Does anybody have any good recipes for dips. No not me. I mean the kind you use chips for. I'm considering hosting a superbowl party for a few friends. Need help, please.

It is not really anything. But I usually just buy the "Onion" mix from the supermarket and mix it with sour cream to make Onion dip. It takes good with Ruffles or Lays (wavy).

Damn... now I am craving some.

1/2 cup to 3/4 cup mayo(depending how much you want, but it needs at least a half of cup)

hot suace to your taste( i use franks hotsauce or tabsco)

cheddar cheese- shredded (mix in and then top with)

mix all well, top with some extra cheese, put into a 325 oven till shrimp are cooked. serve with crackers or pita bread chips. (dont forget to spray the dish!!!!!!!)

Shrimp Dip
2 small cans of shrimp
1 8oz package cream cheese
1/4 T diced onion
1/2 cup mayo
1/2t horseradish
2T chili sauce

Mix together, adding drained shrimp last. Chill. Serve with potato chips.

Killer Bean Dip
1 can bean dip
1 8oz package cream cheese
1 packet taco seasoning
1 cup sour cream
18 drops tabasco sauce
shredded cheddar cheese

Mix first 5 ingredients. Put in baking dish and top with shredded cheese. Bake at 425 until bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips.

Spinach and Artichoke Dip

10 oz package drained frozen spinach
1 can chopped artichoke hearts
12 oz shredded monterey jack cheese
12 oz shredded mozarella cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayo
2 cloves crushed garlic
Sliced provolone

Mix all ingredients except provolone. Microwave until hot and bubbly. Top with sliced provolone. Microwave until melted. Serve with tortilla chips.

The previous two dips have actually gotten me a couple of marriage proposals when they were brought to work for potlucks or "food days". Guys love these dips. The top two are the easiest, but the last one is worth the effort.

Blue Cheese Dip with Bacon & Almonds

4 slices bacon, browned and crumbled
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cut into small pieces
4 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup half-and-half
2 tablespoons chopped chives
3 tablespoons chopped smoked almonds (for garnish)

Combine bacon, garlic, cream cheese, blue cheese and half-and-half in a saucepan.

Place pan over low heat and stir constantly until cheese is melted. Stir in chives. Sprinkle with chopped almonds.

Hot Jalapeno Crab Dip

1 pound crabmeat, or you could use the fake stuff
1 minced garlic clove
1/2 cup chopped pickled jalapenos
4oz grated pepperjack cheese
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2oz grated parmesan or romano cheese (not the stuff in the green canister)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the crabmeat, garlic, jalapenos, pepperjack cheese, Worcestershire, hot sauce, salt, and mayonnaise. Pour into baking dish, sprinkle the parmesan/romano cheese evenly on top. Bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving.

Peanut Butter from Hell

1 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup cup peanut oil
3 TBS minced dehydrated onion
2 cloves crushed garlic
2 TBS sesame seeds
1 TBS honey
4 TBS lemon juice
4 tsp soy sauce
1/2 - 3 tsp ground red pepper (as much or as little as you think you can stand)
hot water (if necessary)

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until melted. Do not allow it to burn. This will need to be kept warm in a crockpot or something. If it starts to get too thick, add a very small amount of hot water.

These are extremely easy:

Spinach Dip

1 packet vegetable soup mix (Knorr's, Mrs. Grass, something like that)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1 small can water chestnuts, chopped
1 10oz pkg frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained

Combine soup mix, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Blend in spinach and water chestnuts. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. Although I do not, a lot of people like to serve this in a hollowed out loaf of round pumpernickel bread.

Black Bean Hummus

1 can black beans, drained (15 oz)
1/4 cup tahini
2 med cloves minced garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon cumin

Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender. If it is too thick, add equal amounts of olive oil and lime juice, beginning in small increments until product is of desired consistency.

Jezebel Dip

1 jar pineapple or apricot preserves (18oz)
1jar apple jelly (18oz)
1 jar prepared horseradish (5oz)
1 small can dry mustard (1 1/2oz)
8oz cream cheese

Combine preserves, jelly, horseradish, and mustard. Let stand at least 1 hour before serving. Pour over block of cream cheese.
