Why cant they just change a few items ...I avoid trans fats as much as I can. When I go to Starbucks for coffee and a snack, I am with my daughter and its a treat. I dont go to eat freaking rice cakes. I care about my arteries too and that is why I dont eat bad food every meal or snack. An occasional blueberry muffin from Starbucks wont hurt my heart.

Its all about control.....people dont have any so they expect vendors to force them to control their eating habits. Whats next? Food rationing? Grocery stores telling me how much food I can buy?

I know what's bad for me; I dont need Starbucks rationing my fat intake because they think they will make more money...

That would be freedom to choose/decide.....most people gave up that right long ago.... willingly.....it was told to them that it was for their own good...public safety and all that crap! You know...the multi-billion dollar companies care....just like our "appointed" government.....

Medicare? You have to be kidding me...the government makes you think that they are helping you. Medicare takes money out of our paychecks, remember? The Govt isnty giving us crap. Dont depend on anybody taking care of you when you are old, much less the Government.

AMEN!!!!! It is no different than paying car insurance for something that "might" happen. I have been paying car insurance since I was 16 (30 years). I have paid out around $30,000 per vehical I own and I have had 1 accident in those 30 years where my insurance company had to pay $75 for a  tire. The remaining money I paid in was used for??????? Let's see, to pay someone else's claim, to pay salories of employees, office space, computers, etc. Now, if the majority of the population has insurance (because it's the law) that is billions and billions of dollars a year the insurance companies are making and I will be that amount far exceeds what they pay out in claims or use internally for the business....so where is all that money going? Why are insurance costs only getting higher and higher? Because cars are made better and cost more to replace? Yah right!!!! Plastic is far cheaper than real steel!

But I guess because some yahoo bought a car and fell asleep at the wheel and ran his ass into a pole and cracked his scull and trashed his car and couldn't afford to replace the car, he thought he deserved to get a free car and free ER visit because HE fell asleep at the wheel! He didn't know you couldn't sleep and drive because no one told him???? Thank God the government officials stepped in and made it a law that I have to pay insurance! Guess I was too stupid to figure that one out for myself!!!!!

But as it's becoming more and more common for people to need $90,000 triple by-pass surgeries, and in general to expect treatments and medications that prolong their lives indefinitely despite their health conditons, I think the government is increasingly having to lay out more than we put in.

You don't need Medicare to get free health care .....   you just have to be dead broke ....   Just show up at a hospital and need a life saving procedure and you will get it .....    sooner if it's an actual emergency ....   later if you have to prove your broke ....   We just went through this with IO's dad ....   bills  totaling over a hundred thousand dollars wipe clean by tax payers dollars ....

Now with IO's dad ....  it was not problems caused by a stupid life style ....

With trans fats, alcohol, and drugs .....   Why pay for them .....   I'm not the one that is lying there with a heart attack, failed liver, and over dosed because I 'm to stupid to breath.    Let the fuckers die and leave hard working people put their money in a place that will help them when they have a need for medical care.

The way things are now. All my extra money goes to pay for their mistakes leaving me broke come time to pay for my family.   Now I get to sell off all my belongings and wind up yet another  dead broke victim that the government has to steal yet more money from another hard working Joe leaving him a potential victim in the future ....

It a cycle that has to be broken are we are doomed as a free nation ....
